The Ujjaini Shaktipith mahakali temple is located in ujjaini Madhya Pradesh.The temple is dedicated to Goddesh Mahakali.In the temple, idol of Mahakali is placed in between the idols of Mahalakshmi and Saraswati. The temple of Sthirman ganesh is beside the temple of Garhkali.Hanumatkeshwar Shiva linga is near the temple of Garhkali.Simheshwar Shiva linga is in the temple of Sthirman ganesh. The Maha kali (hara sidhi mata) was the aradhana devi of The great King Vikramadithya. It is said that King Vikramadithya has offered his head (sirassu) by cutting 11 times to devi and all those times devi made him live by jointing it back. We will find his portrait a hall next to the temple.he temple has two unique pine shaped iron lamp stands of height 15 feet lit every evening. In Harasidshi Mata temple, idols of Goddess Annapurna and Goddess Saraswati also are installed and worshipped.
There is another temple in Ujjain of Gad Kalika in which as per a legend, Kalidasa who was illiterate and foolish, worshipped Goddess Kalika. Goddess was pleased with his devotion and blessed him with literary skills. Later Kalidasa became great poet.
